WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A BASIC EXTERIOR DETAIL?

Since exterior detailing is about more than just cleaning, it can be difficult to understand what exterior detailing entails. At Detail Werx, we believe that perfection is in the details, so you know that we take exterior detailing seriously! Detail exterior detailing by hand is a meticulous process that includes more than just rinsing your car down.

  • STEP 1

    First and foremost, exterior detailing includes the act of hand-washing your vehicle's exterior to remove any dirt or debris that has accumulated on the surface over time.  We use a safe, delicate process to ensure we are not marring, or worsening the painted surface.

  • STEP 2

    Once exterior dirt has been removed, usually with the help of a two-bucket hand washing system, exterior detailing also includes the act of decontaminating your vehicle's exterior. Decontamination is done using clay bar, a specialized compound that removes exterior contamination from the exterior paintwork while also removing minor surface imperfections. 

  • STEP 3

    After exterior decontamination, exterior detailing includes a quick exterior wipe-down to remove any excess clay lube and residue. 

  • STEP 4

    After exterior dirt and imperfections have been removed, exterior detailing also includes the application of tire dressings to make tires shine like new again without attracting dust or causing sling-off on wheels. 

  • STEP 5

    Finally, exterior detailing is wrapped up with exterior protection. At Detail Werx, we apply FEYNLAB Detailer Paint Sealant which provides a protective barrier that prevents exterior contaminants from adhering to exterior paint for up to 3 months
